Greetings Everyone and Happy Spring!

It seems like Spring has sprung overnight this year. I woke up one morning to a bright burst of yellow from the daffodils and forsythia in our yard and thought, “Guys, wait a minute - I’m not ready for you yet,” to which they responded, “Too bad human, we’re here.” I hadn’t been expecting them for at least a couple more weeks, but there they were, bright and cheery as ever.
Actually, the timing was perfect since I have some news to share with all of you.
Improvements to our Healing Space

The Wellness Alliance will be sprucing up a bit over the next several weeks. Beginning March 13th, the house will receive a fresh coat of paint. The job is supposed to last about a week, so you may see the paint crew’s truck in the yard and there may be a bit of noise, but I don’t expect it to be too bad. Fortunately, we are situated in the middle of the top floor, which tends to be the quietest room in the house. In any case, it won’t last long and the house will have a fresh, new appearance.
In addition, the parking lot will receive an upgrade. No date has been set as of yet, but it will probably happen before the spring rains set in around early April. It will require everyone to park in the public lot beside the house. For those who have appointments during that time period, I will send out the information about parking along with the appointment confirmation via text. The Wellness Alliance and I thank you for your patience!
Reiki Healing Sessions beginning March 31st

Next, I’m pleased to announce that I will receive my Reiki certification on March 30th. Some of you may have already experienced a preview during our sessions. I did a deep dive this past Winter into this fascinating energy healing modality and found that it dovetails nicely with my existing work in integrative acupressure. Both modalities facilitate energy flow and balance in the body, but with acupressure, the practitioner stimulates the pressure points along energy channels that form electrical pathways throughout the body. In Reiki, the bioenergetic field that surrounds the human body is engaged.
Reiki, a Japanese term meaning “universal life force energy”, is a form of healing in which the practitioner lays their hands lightly on or just above a person’s body. The practitioner acts as a channel, similar to a finely-tuned radio transceiver, whereby she perceives the subtle imbalances in the person’s bioenergetic vibrational field and then sends intentional, nourishing energy to those areas that need more balance and flow.
The human body is a bio-electrical organism that emits a vibrational frequency of around 9-16 hertz Not only do the major organ systems of the physical body emit a resonant frequency, but our thoughts, emotions, and even our spiritual energy emit a very subtle resonant frequency. All of these layers (and more) make up the human bioenergetic field.
Reiki is a very subtle healing art form that seems rather esoteric and even mystical in nature, but I believe that's partly why I'm so curious about it. The more I research it, the more I'm drawn to it intuitively. The scientific community is finally beginning to embrace more alternative and complementary healing practices like Reiki. In fact, Reiki healing can be found in twenty-seven hospitals across the US. I will be exploring this modality in more detail in upcoming blog posts and detailing my journey into “Vibrational Wellness”, so please stay tuned.
My New Etsy Store

Lastly, I’m excited to finally announce the opening of my Etsy Shop, TheFaceCloudPillow, featuring my therapeutic weighted pillows. As many of you know, I developed a therapeutic tool called The Face Cloud (TFC) during the pandemic. Basically, it’s a weighted pillow that lays directly on the face with a breathing hole in the middle. Inside the pillow are bead pockets which are arranged in a pattern that conforms to the natural contours of the face. Coincidentally (or perhaps I should say, synchronistically), these bead pockets also correspond to the pressure points on the face. This gentle pressure calms the mind and helps the body achieve a deeper level of relaxation.
Many people use TFC for simple relaxation, while others find that it helps alleviate insomnia, stress, and anxiety. Still others use it as a tool for meditation. I use mine at night as a sleep aid and also during the day in conjunction with sound frequency healing, visualization techniques, and guided meditation in order to maintain my own “vibrational wellness”. For more information on how I developed this tool, check out this blog post.
I’m adding to my collection of weighted therapeutic pillows as we speak. So far, I have three sizes/weights for The Face Cloud and a smaller/lighter version for kids. Stay tuned for future products which include the Jumbo Eye Pillow (which covers the eyes and the ears), the Third Eye Pillow, and the Grounding Pillow.
Many Thanks

Finally, I have much gratitude for each and every one of you for allowing me to be a part of your wellness practice. It is my goal to explore new and beneficial healing modalities, like Reiki and other complementary therapies, so that I can provide you with the most optimal healing alternatives for your health and well-being.
Enjoy the Spring everyone and I hope to see you all soon.
